Q:
I’m following the Weight Watchers program and was wondering the number of points a serving of pistachios would be?
- Trisha, R., Minnesota
A:

A 1-ounce of serving of pistachios (49 nuts) equals 4 Weight Watchers points.  Pistachios are known as the skinny nut because they are one of the lowest calorie, lowest fat, highest fiber nuts and offer the most nuts per serving – 49, compared to 18 for cashews and 22 for almonds.

You can see how pistachios fit into other diet plans with our Skinny Nut fact sheet: http://pistachiohealth.com/sites/default/files/patient-materials/FACT_SHEET_Skinny_Nut_Diet_Tips.pdf.

Best of luck in your weight loss/management goals!
